The music legends Ilayaraja(IR) and A.R.Rahaman(ARR) have given a prodigious contribution to music. They create magic with their beats and capture attention of audience, however no can justify true music still they manage to grab. They donate life on screen to the characters and songs which touch hearts. Both the legends had/still has a sync. They used the nuance of the carnatic raaga’s in their songs. To a person who knows classical music the raaga’s are explicit and for the others they are just great tunes.Whatever the case may be all those songs were sooper hits. So here comes a manifestation of their songs (upto my knowledge) and their respective raaga from which it had originated.

ABHERI : This raagam is fairly popular. Its instantly “ATTRACTIVE” and melodic in nature.

* “Chinnanchiru vayathil enakor chithiram thonruthadi “(Meendum kokila) was     composed by IR for kamal and sridevi. A scene which involves an attraction     towards each other as it was a ponnu paakra event.

*The same raaga was composed my ARR for the song” Kannodu kaanbadhellam thalaiva” (Jeans) in more or less the same  situation when Naazar wants to see his prospective daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai.

DARBARI KAANADA: Its called the “MIDNIGHT” Raaga. Most suitable for duets.

* “Malarae Mounama” (Karna) – IR

* :Kaatre en vaasal vandhai” (Rhythm) – ARR

KEDARAM : It denotes a pleasantry evening,to emphasise the dramatic impact of love on the lovers.

* “Sundari neeyum sundaran gyanum”(Michael madana kaamarajan)

* “Ennavale adi ennavale” (Kaadhalan)

KAAPI: This ragam induces the moods of pathos and sadness.

* “Chinna thayaval”(Thalapathi)

* “Kaadhal Rojavae” (Roja)

MADHYAMAVATHI: This Raaga is said to make people bright and cheerful

* “Aahaya gangai “(Dharmayutham)

* “Konjum mainakalae” (Kandukindaen kandukondaen)

REETHIGOWLAI: One of the famous raaga’s in the tamil music industry. Many music directors have ventured into this raaga.

* “Chinna kannan azhaikiran” ( don’t know the movie :D)

* ” Azhagana rakshasiye” (Mudhalvan)

This is Where I Found Myself

  Motherhood, I have realized, is a lifelong game of losing and finding. You lose sleep… and find strength. You lose control… and find surrender. You lose the woman you once were… and somewhere between spilled milk and tiny fingerprints on the clean walls, you find a newer version of yourself waiting quietly. I learned this most painfully and most beautifully on an ordinary afternoon with my twins - Saket and Smriti. They were around one-and-a-half years old then with unstable feet, endless curiosity and a suspicious talent for making household objects disappear. Honestly, I don’t know why I spent money on toys. Because nothing fascinated them more than my kitchen vessels. Steel tumblers were drums. Lids were frisbees. And my chapati rolling pin? Apparently a national treasure that needed to be hidden daily.
